Issue

When an HDD password has been created a user may not be able to reselect the AHCI controller option after it has been set to Compatibility mode.  In this situation the the system will not recognize the correctly entered HDD password.  If this should occur the system will need to be sent into the depot or to an ASP for repair.

Upgrading to the latest version of BIOS will prevent this error situation and allow the SATA controller options to be changed without problems.

Resolution

Toshiba recommends upgrading to the latest BIOS version to avoid the occurrence of this situation.

Once the system is in the error condition the computer will require a repair from either the Toshiba depot or an Authorized Service Provider.
