- Issue
External display devices such as TVs or projectors may not display video when connected to the notebook's S-video port.
- Resolution
To resolve this issue reset the notebook's BIOS settings to the default values.
We also recommend confirming that the notebook's BIOS is the latest version. If a later version of BIOS is available please update the notebook. Note that installing a new BIOS does not automatically change the settings. Resetting the BIOS options to correct the issue with the S-video output must be done separately either before or after installing the new BIOS.
- Procedure
Steps to set the BIOS settings to defaults:
1) Power down the notebook.
2) Power on the notebook and immediately hold down the F2 key to enter Setup.
3) Once in the BIOS screen Select F9 to Setup Defaults.
4) Select F10 to Save and Exit.
After the system boots up you may have to select FN-F5 to toggle the display to output to the S-Video port.
