Issue

A Windows blue screen error condition ("BSOD") may occur during or immediately after installing 64-bit Windows 7.

Resolution

A small set of laptop models require a BIOS update to be compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows 7.  The model list and download links are available below.

Please note that not all models in the below listed model families will require the BIOS upgrade, but only those with Part Numbers matching the detail below. The Part Number can be found on a sticker on the bottom of Toshiba laptops.

Procedure

Download and install the needed BIOS update, per your laptop's Part Number and the information below.  Your laptop's Part Number is found on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop.

Satellite A305D (part numbers beginning with PSAH8U & PSAHCU only)

Satellite L300D & L305D (part numbers beginning with PSLC8U only)

Satellite L355D (part numbers beginning with PSLE8U only)

Satellite Pro L300D  (part numbers beginning with PSLC9U only)

Note: The last three items listed above use the same BIOS so their download links go to the same page. They are listed separately to ease model identification.
