Under Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), when the laptop's Toshiba Presentation Button button is pressed, the display mode may not switch from presentation mode back to single monitor mode.

To fix this problem, replace the current version of the Toshiba Display Devices Change Utility with version 2.5.3.0 or newer, per the detailed steps below. It's necessary to remove the current version of the utility before installing the new version.

1. Click the following link to download Toshiba Display Devices Change Utility version 2.5.3.0.
   
   You can also browse for the newest available version of this utility at the Toshiba Support website: support.toshiba.com.
   
   
2. Save the file to the Windows Desktop, or to a conveniently-located folder.
   
   
3. Click the Window Start button, then click Control Panel.
   
   
4. Click Add or Remove Programs, then click Remove a Program.
   
   
5. Click Toshiba Display Devices Change Utility in the Currently Installed Programs list, then click the button labeled either Change/Remove or Remove.
   
   
6. Navigate to the file you downloaded in step one, and double-click the filename.
   
   
7. Click OK, then Unzip, then OK again.
   
   
8. Respond to prompts presented by the installation program.
   
   
9. Restart Windows.
   

To verify that the update was successful, you can select Toshiba Display Devices Change Utility in the Currently Installed Programs list (as in step 5, above). Version 2.5.3.0 includes a "Click here for support information" link. The older version does not include this link.
