Optimizing Sound Recording on Toshiba PDAs

Issue
Audio files recorded with Toshiba PDA have poor sound quality during playback.
Resolution

Select a higher voice recording format. The default voice recording formats (see comments below) are optimized for space not quality. To change the voice recording format perform the following steps:

  1. Tap Start, Notes.
  2. Tap the Tools menu and tap Options...
  3. Tap the Global Input Options link toward the bottom of the page.
  4. Tap the Options tab.
  5. Tap the upside down triangle located at the end of the current Voice recording format.
  6. Tap to highlight and select the desired Voice recording format.
  7. Click OK to close the Settings Input window.
  8. Click OK to close the Notes Options window.

COMMENTS:
The default voice recording format is:

GSM 6.10, 8,000Hz, Mono (2 KB/s) for the e310 and e570
PCM, 8,000Hz, 8 Bit, Mono (8 KB/s) is e740
