The Toshiba dynadockTM (pictured at left) does not provide power to run a laptop computer or to charge its battery -- though its two front-mounted USB ports do provide power for USB devices, and can charge some cell phones, MP3 players and other USB devices, even when the computer is turned off.

There are other Toshiba docking products --  including the Toshiba Express Port Replicator (shown below) -- which do provide power to operate a laptop computer and to charge its battery. This port replicator works with some, not all, of the Satellite, Portege and Tecra series laptops.

Many Toshiba laptop models do not have a dedicated docking interface connector for a docking station or a port replicator. For these models, USB docking stations like the Toshiba dynadock are well-suited, though they they do not power the computer they are attached to, or charge its battery.
