Description
This is a TOSHIBA HD DVD player update. The HD DVD player is required to play HD DVD videos. This update is only for Toshiba computers that are configured with an HD DVD optical disk drive.

Special Notes

  1. The DVD playback feature will not be installed by applying this update to Qosmio G30 computers with InterVideo WinDVD pre-installed.
  2. This update can be applied to Qosmio G30 PQG31U computers that have InterVideo WinDVD HD pre-installed if:
    • InterVideo WinDVD HD is uninstalled, and the NVIDIA GeForce Go7600 display driver is updated to V8.3.2.8 or higher before running the TOSHIBA HD DVD player update.
  3. When applying this update to Qosmio G40 computers, the NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT Windows Vista Display Driver display driver must be updated to V7.15.11.128 or higher.
    • Please note that this display driver requires BIOS V1.30 or higher to be installed on the computer before this display driver is installed.
  4. On computer models with the Broadcom HW Decoder, the Broadcom HW Decoder driver needs to be updated to at least V2.14.4.0 prior to this update. Refer to the Broadcom Decoder Driver for Windows V2.14.4.0 download page for further details.

Application Installation Instructions

  1. Save the file to a convenient location such as the Windows Desktop.
  2. Save open files and close all open applications
  3. On the Windows Desktop, double-click the downloaded file to start the installation.
  4. Click Continue if a User Account Control window is displayed.
  5. Follow the displayed instructions to complete the update.

TOSHIBA HD DVD Player Version Verification

  1. Launch TOSHIBA HD DVD Player.
  2. Right-click on the screen and click Settings.
  3. The driver version will be displayed under "DVD Settings."
