Issue

On the Satellite A130 and A135 models, MP3 audio files may continue to play after Windows Media Player is closed.

This happens only with version 11 of the Media Player included with Windows Vista, and only when the application is closed by clicking the Close button ('X') at the upper right corner of the Media Player window.

If the Repeat option has been selected on Media Player, then the MP3 audio will play repeatedly.

Media Player may also fail to restart, once the condition described above has occurred.

Resolution

This problem is under investigation. Until a solution is developed, please use the following 'workaround' to stop playback of the MP3 audio and to allow Media Player to be successfully restarted.

1. Right-click an empty area of the taskbar, then click Task Manager.

2. When Task Manager launches click the Processes tab.

3. Click wmplayer.exe to select it in the Process list.

4. Click the End Process button to close the Media Player application, and stop playback of the MP3 audio.

It should now be possible to restart the WIndows Media Player.
