The Search feature of Windows Vista may slow down or stop working altogether, over time.- Resolution
Rebuild the Windows Vista Search Index, which may speed up Windows Vista searches.- Procedure
Follow these steps to rebuild the Windows Vista Search Index:1. Click the Windows Start button.
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Click on System and Maintenance.
4. Click on Indexing Options.
5. Click the Advanced button.
6. In the User Access Control window, click the Continue button.
7. In the Advanced Option window, click the Rebuild button.
8. At the prompt "Are you sure you want to rebuild the index?", click the OK button.Rebuilding the Windows Vista Search Index may take a long time, depending upon the size of the index file and other factors.
