Issue

When the SelectBay Floppy Disk Drive is removed from the computer, the Floppy Disk Controllers will have an exclamation point (!) next to it and will appear to be running in MS-DOS Compatibility Mode.

COMMENTS:
Once the Drive is inserted back into the computer the exclamation will go away. The Floppy Drive will work normally after it is inserted.

Resolution

The MS-DOS Compatibility Mode issue can be resolved by changing the Floppy Disk (Selectable Bay) option from "Disabled" to "3 FOH/IRQ6/CH2", under Floppy disk I/O in the systems BIOS:

  1. Restart the Computer holding the Esc key down.
  2. Press F1 when prompted. The System Setup (BIOS) screen will appear.
  3. Use the arrow key to highlight the Floppy Disk I/O option.
  4. Press the spacebar until the option 3 FOH/IRQ6/CH2 is selected.
  5. Press the End key to save changes and exit.
