- The Volume Control icon (the picture of the little speaker) is missing from the System Tray.
- Resolution
Procedure 1 (Windows 98/Me):
- Click Start / Run and type msconfig in the Open box. Click OK.
- Once in the System Configuration Utility click on the Startup tab.
- Find and click System Tray (SysTray.exe)
so that a check mark appears next to this item.
If a check is already next to System Tray then leave it and continue on to Procedure 2. - Click OK and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.
Procedure 2:
- Click Start / Setting / Control Panel.
- In Control Panel double-click Multimedia (In Me/2000 click Sound & Multimedia).
- When inside Multimedia click on the Audio tab (In Me/2000 click the Sound tab).
- In the Audio (Sound if Me/2000) tab click the "Show volume control on the taskbar" check box to select it.
- Click OK.
