Issue

Toshiba has released a new version of the driver for the Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet LAN adapter in the Tecra M4 models.

The new driver addresses the following issues:

1. Slow performance over the PPPoE protocol.

2. The computer may "hang" (lock up, stop responding) when an Ethernet frame that exceeds the maximum frame length is received.

3. When waking from Standby or Hibernation, it takes a long time to re-establish the IP addresss.

4. The WOL (Wake On LAN) feature does not work on Ethernet hubs without Auto MDI/MDIX support.

Resolution

Download and install the Marvell LAN adapter driver, version 8.41.2.3 (or newer) to correct these problems, per the instructions below.
