Issue
System locks up when PCMCIA ATA hard disk is inserted in the PCMCIA slot and the PCMCIA controller is set to CARDBUS / 16-bit.
Resolution

Change the PCMCIA Controller to Auto-Select.

  1. Press both the Power On and the Esc key simultaneously.
  2. Press F1 key, then PgDn key.
  3. Change the PC CARD Controller Mode to Auto-Select.
  4. Press End key to Save changes and Exit.
