Issue
How to verify the BIOS and firmware versions on the Magnia server.
Resolution
Use the following procedure to verify the BIOS and firmware versions on the Magnia servers.
  1. Power on the server and press the [F2] key to enter the system BIOS followed by the [pause] key. The system BIOS release version is displayed at the top of the screen. Write down the release version.
  2. Press any key to continue and then press the [pause] key again when the MegaRAID BIOS & firmware version is displayed. Write down the MegaRAID BIOS & firmware versions.
  3. Press any key to continue and then press the [pause] key when the SMC BIOS version is displayed. Write down the SMC BIOS version.
  4. Press any key to continue and enter the CMOS setup, then go to Server/System Management/Server Management Info. Write down the BMC FW version.
  5. Boot the server off the SMC firmware update diskette (this diskette can be created using the Server Setup Tool CD) and write down the SMC FW version and the DMC FW version.
