- System is unable to boot from an USB floppy drive.

RESOLUTION:
Power up the system while holding down the appropriate hotkey to bring up the Select boot device menu. Use the table below to determine which hotkey to press to bring up the boot menu and any special instructions required to boot from a USB floppy drive.RESOLUTION:

Use the table below to determine which hotkey to press to bring up the boot menu and any special instructions required to boot from a USB floppy drive.Mode Boot Device Menu Hotkey Menu option to boot from USB FDD Portege 2000 F12 Boot Device Menu options are represented as icons. Move highlight with the left/right arrow keys beneath the floppy disk icon and press the Enter key. Portege 3440CT F2 F, USB-FDD legacy emulation must be set to Enabled in CMOS or pressing F will have no effect (see instructions below) Portege 3480CT F2 F, USB-FDD legacy emulation must be set to Enabled in CMOS or pressing F will have no effect (see instructions below) Portege 3490CT F2 F, USB-FDD legacy emulation must be set to Enabled in CMOS or pressing F will have no effect (see instructions below) Portege 4000 F12 U Satellite 5000/5005 F12 Boot Device Menu options are represented as icons. This setting temporarily overides the current SYSTEM SETUP setting for Boot Priority until
the next system restart.
How to Enable USB-FDD legacy emulation in CMOS:- Hold down the ESC key while powering up the system.
- A message "Check system. Then press [F1] key." will be displayed. Press the F1 key to enter CMOS setup.
- Use the down arrow key to go to the USB-FDD Legacy Emulation= option. The current option will be highlighted.
- Press the spacebar to toggle the option from Disabled to Enabled.
- Press the End key to Save changes and Exit.
- Press the Y key to confirm and exit CMOS.
