• A television with separate video and audio input jacks
• The RCA conversion cable that came with your computer. This cable is approximately five feet in length with a male mini jack connector at one end and three male RCA connectors on the other end. The Yellow RCA connector is for video and the white and red RCA connectors are for left and right audio channels respectively.

SETUP:

1. Plug the male mini jack connector of the RCA conversion cable that came with your computer into the Video/audio jack located on the right-hand side on the computer. Please refer to page five of the computer User's Guide for the location of the Video/audio jack.
2. Connect the yellow RCA video connector to the video input jack on your television.
3. Connect the red and white RCA connectors to the audio input on your television or stereo receiver. If your television has more than one set of video/audio inputs, be sure to connect the audio and video cables to the same set of video/audio inputs. If your television is only equipped with only one audio channel input (mono), plug the white audio connector into the audio input.
   Reference: Please refer to you stereo receiver documentation for instructions on connecting to your stereo receiver.
   Special Audio Note: You will not be able to hear the movie in Dolby digital 5.1 sound.
4. Turn on your television and select the appropriate video/audio input.
5. Turn on the computer.
6. Right click on an open area of your desktop and select "Properties". This will display your "Display Properties" window.
7. Click on the "Settings tab"
8. The "Screen area" should be set to "800 by 600 pixels". If it is already set to 800 by 600 proceed to step 15.
9. Slide the Screen Area slider bar until the setting reads "800 by 600 pixels".
10. Click on "Apply", then "OK".
11. A "Display Properties" window will appear stating; Windows will now resize your desktop. This could take a few seconds, during which your screen might flicker. If Windows does not reappear correctly, wait 15 seconds, and your original settings will be restored.
12. Click on "OK".
13. A "Monitor Settings" windows will appear stating; You resized your desktop. Do you want to keep this setting?
14. Click on "yes".
15. While holding down the "Fn" key, press the "F5" key three times consecutively. The display will switch to your television.
16. Insert the DVD title into the DVD Drive.
17. If the movie title does not auto play, you can use the CD Control button or Click on "Start", select "Programs", "Mediamatics DVDExpress" and double click on "Mediamatics DVD Player". click on the play button located on the DVDExpress user interface.

ALTERNATE PROCEDURE:

1. Right click on an open area of your desktop. This will display your "Display Properties" window.
2. Click on the "Settings" tab.
3. The "Screen area" should be set to "800 by 600 pixels". If it is already set 800 by 600 proceed to step 10.
4. Slide the Screen Area slider bar until the setting reads "800 by 600 pixels".
5. Click on "Apply", then "OK".
6. A "Display Properties" window will appear stating; Windows will now resize your desktop. This could take a few seconds, during which your screen might flicker. If Windows does not reappear correctly, wait 15 seconds, and your original settings will be restored.
7. Click on "OK".
8. A "Monitor Settings" windows will appear stating; You resized your desktop. Do you want to keep this setting?
9. Click on "yes".
10. Click on the "Advanced" button. The "Trident Cyber9525DVD PCI/AGP W98(22_2) Properties" window will appear.
11. Click on the "Display Device" tab. Under "Display Devices" select "TV" and click on "Apply". A "Warning Message" window will appear saying, "Please make sure the display device(s) is (are) ready. If you cannot see anything after the switch, please do not touch the keyboard, the display will automatically come back onto the current device in about 15 seconds."
12. Click on "OK". The internal display will disappear and the screen will appear on your television. Another "Warning Message" window will appear saying, "Please confirm the change; Otherwise it will be cancelled automatically after a while.
13. Click on "OK" or press the "Enter" key.
14. Insert your DVD movie into the DVD drive.
15. If the movie title does not auto play, you can use the CD Control button or Click on "Start", select "Programs", "Mediamatics DVDExpress" and double click on "Mediamatics DVD Player". click on the play button located on the DVDExpress user interface.

COMMENTS:

1. Although it is possible to configure the system to show the desktop on the internal display and television simultaneously, you can only display the movie on one screen at a time.
2. It is not possible to play a DVD movie on a television connected to the laptop while working on your computer as stated on page 67 of the user's guide.
3. Unlike audio CD's, the computer must be turned on in order to play DVD movies.
