Issue

In charts created by Microsoft Excel for Windows, the vertical title text of the 'Y' axis may be truncated on the display screen (though it may print normally). Other vertically-oriented text may be similarly cut short.

This problem can occur when the computer's display panel is configured for an aspect ratio different than the 4:3 aspect ratio typically used for computer displays. Many newer portable computers have display panels that support alternative 'wide-screen' display modes, with wide aspect ratios, such as 16:10.

This support bulletin applies to computer models with wide-screen displays, and to Microsoft Office Excel 2003, Microsoft Excel 2002 Standard edition, or Microsoft Excel 2000 Standard Edition.

Resolution

Consider setting the display to a mode with a 4:3 aspect ratio, such as 1024 x 768.
