
Placing a HDD Online and Rebuilding a Failed HDD using MegaRAID Config Util.

- Solid Amber light on Drive X (where X is the numerical placement of the drive) and the Drive does not spin up.
MegaRAID Utility displays the drive as FAILED. - Procedure
1) Reboot unit and press Ctrl+M to access the MegaRAID Configuration Utility. 2) At the Management Menu, select Objects and press
. 3) Select Physical Drive and press in the Objects menu. 4) In the PHYSICAL DRIVE SELECTION MENU, highlight the failed drive and press . 5) Select "Make Online" and press . 6) Press the ESC key to back out of the menus and then exit and reboot the unit. COMMENT: - If "Make Online" does not recover the drives, try rebuilding the physical drive. - If the drive(s) cannot be rebuilt, a Hard Drive replacement is required. TIP: Running a Scandisk and Chkdsk from a DOS prompt will assist in identifying the severity of damage to the HDD but will not rebuild it. - Export Control and EULA
