Installing the Intouch Module in Windows 98

Before you start:

*    Make sure that resolution is for a "clean" install of Windows 98.
*    Make sure that resolution only works for Windows 98.  It will not
       work with Windows 98 SE (Second Edition.)
     
PROCEDURE:
1.   Verify that the BIOS is upgraded to version V1.00.08.
     To download the latest BIOS access the Toshiba Website at:
     http:/www.pcsupport.toshiba.com.
2.   Install Windows 98.
3.   Install any other applications you may wish to use.
4.   Add a key to the Registry.
     a.	Open the Windows 98 NotePad in Accessories.
     b.	Type in the following EXACTLY including capitalization:
     
        REGEDIT4
        
        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\USB]
        "LegacyToshibaUSB"=hex:01,00,00,00
        
     c.	Save the document/file as USB.REG.
     d.	Exit notepad.
5.   Locate the file USB.REG you just created and double click on
       the file name / Icon.  (You will see a message saying "The
       registry entry has been successfully added.") Click OK.
6.   In Device Manager remove any devices listed under USB.
7.   If the system asks you to reboot,  say NO.
8.   Install the Intouch software.  Use all of the default settings
       and click next.
9.   The system will ask you to reboot.  Say NO.
10.  Locate MSIOSD.INI file. Double click on this file  and it will
       open up in NotePad.
11.  Add a line at the end that says "Reserved=1" (without the
       quotation marks.)  Save the file and exit.
12.  Reboot the computer.
13.  When windows boots backup it will re-install all of the software
       and drivers for the Intouch Module.
14.  Install the Intouch Applications if they are not already
       installed: CD Player, Syncro Connect, Radio Application and
       TV Application (if applicable.)
15.   Install any other applications you may wish to use.  Reboot
        each time when prompted.
