- Issue
- Installation of Iomega USB Zip 100 Drive on units without CD-ROM drives.
- Procedure
- Note: Make sure that the USB
port is configured. In Device Manager under
Universal serial bus controller you will see a
"NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller" and a "USB
root hub". If these devices are not installed
please contact Toshiba Technical Support.
- Create a driver disk for the Iomega USB Zip
100 Drive by copying the following files to a
floppy disk:
USB_ios.pdr, USBBios.inf, USBzip.inf and USBzip.sys.
These files can be found on the IomegaWare CD in the directory called "w9xstuff".
- Connect AC adapter to the Zip drive, AC adapter to power source and the USB cable to Zip drive.
- Insert a Zip disk into the Zip drive.
- Connect the USB cable from the Zip drive into the system’s USB port. The system should be in Windows.
- Add New hardware Wizard window opens with "USB Zio 100 found". Click "Next".
- Add New Hardware Wizard window – select "Search for the best driver for you device. (Recommended)" and click "Next"
- Windows pop-up informing you that Windows will search for the new drivers opens. Click box next to "Floppy disk drives" to put a check in the box and click "Next".
- Windows will detect an "Iomega USB Mass Storage Class Driver". Click "Next". Windows will copy files.
- Windows will show "Iomega USB Mass Storage Class Driver". Click "Finish".
- Windows will detect "Iomega USB Disk Controller". Click "Next".
- Add New Hardware Wizard window – select "Search for the best driver for you device. (Recommended)" and click "Next"
- Windows pop-up informing you that Windows will search for the new drivers opens. Click "Next".
- Windows will detect "Iomega Win98 USB Disk Controller". Click "Next". Windows will copy files.
- Windows will show "Iomega Win98 USB Disk Controller". Click "Finish".
- The Iomega USB ZIP 100 Drive will be installed and ready to use. It will show in Windows Explorer as "Removable Disk (x:)".
- Create a driver disk for the Iomega USB Zip
100 Drive by copying the following files to a
floppy disk:
- Export Control and EULA
- Use of any software made available for download from this system constitutes your acceptance of the Export Control Terms and the terms in the Dynabook end-user license agreement both of which you can view before downloading any such software.
