How to re-install display drivers from the Configuration Builder CD-ROM.
Procedure
  1. Insert the Configuration Builder CD-ROM. It will auto-run and a box will appear with a black dot beside Windows 95 or beside Windows 98. If the dot is beside Windows 95, you have the Configuration Builder CD-ROM for 95 in the drive. If running Windows 98, then insert the second CD-ROM and cancel out of this dialog box.
  2. If this dialog box appears again, then select OK and Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD box will appear.
  3. Select then Cancel button and then select the OK button.
  4. Double click the My Computer icon.
  5. Right-click the CD-ROM drive icon, then select the Explore option.
  6. In the left pane, click the plus sign beside the folder named "Manual." It will change to a minus sign and a list of folders appears underneath the "Manual" folder.
  7. Search for the "Tridentd" folder. (This folder will be for the Satellite 4090X, 4100X, and the 2595 configuration builder CD-ROMS for both Windows 95 and Windows 98. On the Satellite 2060 and Satellite 2065 Configuration Builder CD-ROM, the folder is named "S3displa.")
  8. Double click the "Tridentd" folder so that it is highlighted. A file will appear in the right pane. This will be an executable file. (The file name is "F4002313" for Windows 98 and "F4002312" for Windows 95. For the Satellite 2060 and Satellite 2065, the file name in the "S3displa" folder is called "F4002336" for Windows 98 and "F4002335" for Windows 95.)
  9. Double click this filename. A box entitled "WinZip Self-Extractor." Click the OK button.
  10. Another box will pop up entitled "WinZip Self-Extractor" with the filename you selected in ( ). This screen will show a "Unzip to Folder" area with "C:\VIDEO.W98" as the destination directory. (For Windows 95, it will create a directory called "C:\VIDEO.W95.) Click the Unzip button.
  11. It will then go through the process of unzipping some files to that directory. Then a message box that says "46 file(s) unzipped successfully" appears. Click the OK button.
  12. The next screen will show a step by step procedure for installing the display driver.
