- Issue
- After installing the latest Yamaha driver from the Toshiba Website (Version 4.06.2343), the driver information indicates that the driver version is still 4.05.2338. This is due to the Uninstall program not removing the Opl3sa.drv file.
- Procedure
- Boot to Safe Mode (Reboot machine and hold down the F8 key on the keyboard for at least 30 seconds (or until Boot Menu appears) then choose Safe Mode.)
- Choose Safe Mode, after desktop appears click Start/Run and type C:\audio.tos\disk1\Sauninst.exe into the "Open" box.
- Click OK.
- Allow application to remove the OPL3SA drivers and files, then reboot the unit when prompted.
- When Windows boots up, it should Auto-detect the hardware and the New Hardware Wizard should automatically launch and attempt to complete the installation of: OPL3-SA3 Sound System.
- Click Next.
- Click the Other Locations button and type: C:\audio.tos\disk1 and click OK then click Finish.
- When prompted for the cpl32apl.cpl file in the Copying Files... dialogue box, type : C:\audio.tos\disk1 and click OK.
- When prompted to insert the disk labeled OPL3-Sax driver for Windows 98 Disk 2 and click OK.
- When prompted for the vsgm.vxd file in the Copying Files… dialogue box, type : C:\audio.tos\disk2 and click OK.
- Windows will now complete the installation of the Yamaha OPL3-Sax audio driver.
- Under Multimedia drivers double-click Audio for Yamaha OPL3-sa Windows Sound System CODEC.
- Click Settings. The Version should now be up to date.
