Units that ship with Windows version A or OSR1 need to have the AMD SCSI drivers updated. Verify that the date and size of the drivers are as follows:


AMSINT.mpd 24,064 12-21-95
SCSIPORT.pdr 23,134 10-11-95 For units that ship with Windows version B or OSR2, verify that the date and size of drivers are as follows.

SCSIPORT.pdr 23,134 08-24-96 There is no setup program to configure the Jaz drive with, all that needs to be checked is that the SCSI controller is configured properly.

Installing AMD SCSI drivers for Windows NT 3.51 & 4.0 Workstation or Server.

  1. Click on the “Start” button, point to “Settings” and then click on “Control Panel”
  2. Double click on “SCSI Adapters” icon, click on the “Drivers” Tab.
  3. Click on the “Add…” dialogue box and then click on “Have disk…” dialogue box.
  4. On the Install Driver window; type in where the installation files are located. (Example X:\winnt35) Winnt35 is where the installation files are located. Click the OK dialogue box.
  5. Next step is to select the appropriated model, select the following model “AMD Pcnet-SCSI/ PCscsi SCSI Controller” click the OK button.
  6. Once you have accepted the model you will be prompted for the path to the drivers again make sure you type in the correct path, because if it does find the driver correctly. The driver will install, but not all drivers will be copied. And of course the devices will not work.
  7. Re-start the computer the driver should be installed and ready to use.

Now all that needs to be done is to connect the Iomega Jaz drive which should now configure properly.
