
"Transform Filter" error when playing a DVD movie

- Issue
- After upgrading from Windows 95 to Windows 98 the DVD player stops working. The following error may occur: cannot open TransformFilter Property.
- Procedure
- Go into Device Manager by double clicking on the My Computer icon from the desktop.
- Double click the control panel icon.
- Double click the System applet in the control panel.
- Highlight the Device Manager tab.
- In Device Manager check to see if the Toshiba
DVD Decoder Board version 2.1 is listed under
Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
Note: If you do not see it check to see the subheading "Other Devices" exists with PCI Multimedia Device listed under it with a yellow exclamation mark. - Double click the PCI Multimedia Device to open the properties screen.
- Click the Driver tab, then select the Update Driver button down below.
- On the next screen place the mark beside "No, select driver from a list"
- It will ask to choose a Hardware type:
- Select Sound and Video Game Controllers then click NEXT.
- Click the Have Disk button on the next screen.
- Type A:\ in the specified location
- Place the first (of two) DVD Software installation diskette in the floppy drive and click OK.
- Select the Toshiba DVD Decoder Board version 2.1. Click next several times until FINISH is available, then choose it.
- The DVD Decoder Board should now be listed
under sound, video, and game controllers.
The DVD player should function normally (ensure that the color depth is 16-bit high color in the display settings and a valid DVD-rom is in the drive).
