AMI FlexRAID Controller (MR-762) hangs with Windows 2000 Beta 3

- Issue
- While attempting to install/upgrade to Windows 2000 Beta 3 on a system with a AMI FlexRAID MR-762 Zero-Channel RAID Controller installed, Windows Setup will hang while the "Setup is starting Windows 2000" prompt is displayed.
If the system is left in this hang condition for a period of time (approx. 2 hours) before rebooting, then the MR-762 NVRAM may be corrupted and in some cases the MR-762 firmware itself will be overwritten resulting in the system hanging during the Power On Self Test after reboot. If the firmware is overwritten, then it may be impossible to re-flash the firmware from diskette due to the hang at POST condition, and the only recourse is to return the card for replacement.
