Issue
After installing the Power Management Utilities from Toshiba on my notebook, a message pops up when I use Suspend or Resume modes. The displayed message mentions that my PC Cards may not function correctly unless I have CardWizard installed.
Procedure
You will need to use or purchase CardWizard if you have all of the following requirements:
  • Toshiba notebook computer
  • Windows NT - Whether installed at the factory or installed after-market

PCMCIA or CardBus PCMCIA cards listed on the Windows NT 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)or the card was provided with Windows NT 4.0 compatible drivers by the card manufacturer.

  • You are required or wish to use Resume or Suspend modes, or you would like to be able to use hotswapping.

Note: Hotswapping includes insertion or removal of PCMCIA cards with the computers power on. Windows NT 4.0 does not support swapping or installing PCMCIA cards after the operating system has booted up. If you did not meet the requirements including the need of Suspend or Resume Modes then you will not need CardWizard. Windows NT for your PCMCIA cards.
