- When using a 3rd party CD-ROM kit that is not supported by the Recovery boot disk that ships w/ computer. The recovery CD process will not work and will generate a "Bad command" error message.

Resolution:
With a DOS text editor, edit Autoexec.bat file, and add the following commands.1. Add SET CDDRV=Q:
2. Add SET PATH=A:\;%CDDRV%\;%CDDRV%\BIN
On Portege models from a DOS prompt, type in Lock C: and press. For the confirmation, type "y" and press
