Information
SETTING UP DCC through Lpt1 PORT ON WINDOWS 95/98 MACHINES

1. Make sure direct cable connection is checked in ADD/REMOVE Programs.
2. Make sure in NETWORK PROPERTIES, these components are installed:


Client for Microsoft Networks
NETBEUI
Dial-Up Adapter
File and Print sharing



3. Click on FILE AND PRINT SHARING and place a check mark on both boxes.
4. Click on IDENTIFICATION Tab and assign different name for Host/Guest computer.
Workgroup name should be same for both. (Computer description is not important).
5. Click NEXT, click FINISH.
6. Go to Control Panel, you should see an Infrared Icon---double click.
7. Click on IDENTIFICATION and give computer name
(should be different name for each computer) and computer description
(should be same for both Host/Guest computers).
8. Click OK. It will ask you if you want to restart computer, say YES.
9. Go to Start/Program/Accessories/Direct Cable Connect.
10. Specify which computer is HOST/GUEST and click NEXT.
Click NEXT, click FINISH.
Click CONNECT on Guest computer.
Click LISTEN on Host computer.
11. The computer will be connected.
