Information: Subject: Flashing the BIOS for 330 series computers preloaded with Windows 98

Some of the Satellite 330 series computers were manufactured and shipped out with Windows 98 preloaded before the ACPI BIOS was released, therefore do not have the Advanced Power Management for Windows 98.

This will cause machines to return a Windows Protection Error message when trying to Restart the machine in MS-DOS. Other issues involve Maxtime reporting the battery life at a number greater than 100% (i.e. 255%.)

The customer should download the ACPI BIOS version 7.20 and FLASH the system, which will resolve this issue.
