- Microsoft Windows 98 does not included Microsoft Fax as a component of the operating system. If Microsoft Fax has been added to Windows 95 before upgrading to Windows 98, the program will still be accessible. If Mircosoft Fax was not installed before upgrading, the Retail upgrade of Microsoft Windows 98 includes an installable application which will add Microsoft Fax. Follow the instructions below where 'X' is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
1. Place the Windows 98 Upgrade CD-ROM in the CD drive.
2. Click on Start then select Run.
3. In the Open dialog box type: X:\tools\oldWindows 95\message\us\awfax.exe
4. Click OK and follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation.
Note: Toshiba Notebooks which include Ring Central will include Ring Central Fax.
