Information
Restores system to a Windows 95-only configuration.
Note: The steps below assume that your computer is currently configured to start Windows NT OR Windows 95 (that is, your system gives you two startup options) and that your system partition is using the file allocation table (FAT16) system.
If your configuration differs from this, do not proceed with these instructions.

Procedure:
1. Start your computer from your Toshiba Companion Diskette. (Or a Windows 95 Startup Disk made from your Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs Utility.
Exit to DOS.

2. At the A:\> prompt type SYS C: .

3. Use the MS-DOS ATTRIB command (located on your bootable floppy diskette) to remove the read-only, hidden, and system attributes from the following files located at the root of the C:\> drive: Boot.ini, Bootsect.dos, NTBootDD.sys (if it exists), NTDetect.com, and NTLDR. Switch to the C:\> drive. At the C:\> prompt, type PATH A: .
EXAMPLE: At the C:\> prompt type ATTRIB -R -S -H Boot.ini . Repeat for all the above files.

4. Use the MS-DOS DEL command to delete all the files listed in step 3 above.
EXAMPLE: At the C:\> prompt type DEL Boot.ini .

5. Delete all files listed in step 4 above, as well as the Pagefile.sys file.

6. Delete the following directories:
[system drive letter]:\[Windows NT directory]\System32
[system drive letter]:\[Windows NT directory]\Repair
[system drive letter]:\[Windows NT directory]

7. You can delete the Users and Win32app directories, found in the root directory, provided there are no important user files located there.

8. Remove the bootable floppy disk. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot your system. The computer should now boot normally into Windows 95.
