- Installing Display Drivers
To set up the display drivers in NT one must first must download the appropriate drivers.. This file can be downloaded to a floppy or a file on the hard drive.
**** For this procedure, the file CT-WINDOWS NT 4.0.EXE (verify for 750) will be used .
This procedure can be used for any display driver by substituting the file name.
1. Once the file is downloaded to a floppy or a file on the computer open that file and double click on
CT-WINDOWS NT 4.0.EXE to inflate the file.
*** When the file inflates it automatically loads to the path C:\Video.
2. Open the Control Panel / Display / Settings. In the Settings screen click Display Type.
This will open the Display Type screen.
3. Click on Change this will bring up the Change Display screen.
4. Click Have Disk. This will bring up the Install From Disk screen.
5. Type C:\ in the Copy files from screen and click Browse.
6. Highlight the Video folder and click Open.
7. Highlight Oemsetup Click open.
8. This will bring us back to the Install From Disk window with C:\video in the Copy manufacturers files from window. Click OK.
9. This will bring up the Change Display screen with
Chips Video Accelerator(64300/1065535/40/45/48/50/54) listed in the Display window.
Click OK
10. This will bring up the Third-party Drivers screen with a statement informing you are about to install a third-party driver. Do you wish to proceed ? Click Yes.
11. " The drivers were successfully installed" message appears. You must exit from the display properties window and reboot in order for the changes to take effect. Click OK.
*** Note: Close all open windows to see the message stating
"Do you want to restart your computer now? ".
12. Click YES.
The computer will restart but the display will still have a black border.
13. Go to the Control Panel / Display / Settings and change the resolution to the appropriate resolution.
*** NOTE *** In the Control Panel / Devices the display driver is listed as Chips
