- Before doing the following unplug the printer, scanner and all other 3rd party devices from the system. Also the printer, scanner, other devices will have to be reinstalled.
1. Turn the system on.
2. Press F8 as soon as "Starting Windows 95" or "OS Load In Progress" appears.
3. Select "Command Prompt Only" from the Microsoft Windows 95 Startup Menu. The system will boot to a DOS prompt.
4. Type, CD\windows\inf, press Enter. The prompt will change to "C:\windows\inf>"
5. Type, DIR OEM*.* /P. Look at the dates each OEM file was created. Find and note the newest dates. (Usually, OEM23.INF was created on the date the problem started.)
6. Delete all OEM*.INF files with the date the problem started.
Delete OEM23.INF regardless of the date.
Delete all files numbered OEM24.INF and above.
If all the newest dates are from long before the LT WIN modem/Printer was installed, delete all OEM*.INF files from OEM20.INF up.
7. Type DEL *.BIN, this will delete two driver.BIN files. These files will rebuild on reboot.
8. Type DEL PRTUPD.INF, remove this file in case the MSGSRV32 error is coming from the printer.
9. Hold the CTRL and ALT keys down, press DELETE to reboot the system.
**10. If the modem Plug and Plays. The computer may not be able to find LTCOM.VXD delete the entire path in the "Copy Files From" box, type 'A:', insert the 33.6 kbps DSVD Driver Installation Diskette into drive A: and click ok. The files will install from the diskette.
**If system boots up without an MSGSRV32 or RUNDLL stop here. If the error message returns go back and start at step 1, skip step 10 going from step 9 to step 11.
11. Press F8 as soon as "OS Load In Progress" appears.
12. Select "Safe Mode" from the Microsoft Windows 95 Startup Menu. The system will boot into Windows 95 Safe Mode.
13. A copy of the Yamaha OPL3-SA Sound Driver Disk may be needed on reboot. If it's not accessible go to Start/Programs/Toshiba Utilities/Master Disk Creator. Click ok on the Welcome screen. Highlight "Yamaha OPL3-SA audio drivers. Insert a formatted disk into drive A:, click Make disk, create disk.
14.Click on Start/Settings/Control Panel. Find and double click on System. From the System Properties window select Device Manager.
15. Click the "+" in front of Sound, Video and Game Controllers, it will turn to a "-".
16. Below Sound, Video and Game Controllers locate Yamaha OPL3-SA Sound System. Click on Yamaha OPL3-SA Sound System so it highlights. Click on Remove. A warning window appears, click ok. The sound system will be removed. Close the System Properties window.
17. Click on Start/Shutdown/Restart the Computer/Yes. Let the system reboot normally.
18. The modem will Plug and Play. If the computer can't find LTCOM.VXD delete the entire path in the "Copy Files From" box, type "A:", insert the 33.6 kbps DSVD Driver Installation Diskette into drive A: and click ok. The files will install from the diskette.
19. If the computer can't find the OPL3-SA driver click ok, delete the entire path in the "Copy Files From" box, type "A:", insert the Yamaha OPL3-SA Audio Drivers Diskette into drive A: and click ok. The files will install from the diskette.
20. The system should boot up normally.
