Information
When a customer loads a TOSHIBA internal CD-ROM on his system and wishes
to access the CD-ROM driver from DOS, it is important to note the CD-ROM's speed
with the proper driver. Toshiba calls all it's CD-ROM DOS drivers TOSCDROM.SYS.
The only way to check for the correct driver is to note it's size and date.

The master CD-ROM driver TOSCDROM.EXE can be download from BBS/Web.
It executes and unzips to the hard disk and brings up a install menu.

2X\TOSCDROM.SYS DOS CD-ROM driver v2.01 for 2X T215xCD CD-ROM

==================================================================
INFORMATION

The CD-ROM drivers included in this electronic archive are for use with MS-DOS
and/or Microsoft Windows 3.x. They are not required or recommended for use
with Windows 95 (except to have access to your CD-ROM drive in Windows 95's MS-DOS
mode).

The included INSTALL.EXE file will help you copy the correct version of
TOSCDROM.SYS for your computer. INSTALL will ask you which drive you have
(2X, 4X, 6X or 10X) and will copy the appropriate driver to the root directory of
your C: drive. When INSTALL is complete, you will need to modify your DOS
CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files as described below.
==================================================================
Usage:

The CD-ROM driver loads as a device driver in your DOS CONFIG.SYS file

DEVICE=TOSCDROM.SYS

When this driver loads successfully, it sets up a DOS device name of
"TOSCD001" for your CD-ROM drive.

You'll need to load the Microsoft CD-ROM Extensions in your AUTOEXEC.BAT
file as well. MSCDEX.EXE is usually located in the \WINDOWS directory.

IF EXIST TOSCD001 MSCDEX /D:TOSCD001 /M:10 /L:[drive letter]

where [drive letter] is the desired drive letter for the CD-ROM drive. If the drive
letter is not specified, the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive will be the next drive
letter available for mapping.

The /D:TOSCD001 parameter tells MSCDEX which CD-ROM device to look for.
