- Software Preinstall potential problem on T1960CT - with either a 200mb or 320mb hard drive.
If you run PCMSETUP and add support for flash cards and then reboot, the computer will lock after loading the MS-FLASH.SYS driver. You will have to cold boot or press the reset button to regain control of the computer.
* It seems to be related to loading Toshiba's STRETCH.EXE program into upper memory AND adding support for Flash cards via Toshiba Card Manager 3.0. The TCM adds an exclusion of X=CC00-CFFF to the EMM386 line. When Stretch loads into upper memory it conflict with memory exclusion for the flash cards. It may be caused by Stretch or EMM386.
Solution:
· Do not load the stretch program in upper memory. Modify the Autoexec.bat file and remove the LH command before STRETCH.
Or
· Change the memory location that Flash uses. Change the exclusion in the config.sys to X=C900-CCFF, reboot and rerun PCMSETUP and select the same address for Flash.
