Information
This document is a part of the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list

Q12: My screen is unusually dark. It used to be pretty bright. How can I adjust that?
A12: In TSETUP, if the BATTERY SAVE MODE is LOW POWER or USER SETTING, the LCD BRIGHTNESS can be set on SEMI-BRIGHT. Change the BATTERY SAVE MODE back to FULL POWER, and you should notice the screen brightens up instantly.

If the model is one with a Dual-Scan screen (any model that ends with CS), there is a knob, usually on the right hand side of the screen, for adjusting contrast. Turn the knob to see if it helps.

On any Active Matrix models (CTs), there is no contrast adjustment, therefore try reloading the video driver.

To change the BATTERY SAVE MODE:
1. Click on START, SHUTDOWN, and RESTART THE MACHINE IN MS-DOS MODE.
2. Type in "TSETUP".
3. Locate the line that reads "BATTERY SAVE MODE" and hit to toggle that to FULL POWER or USER SETTING.
4. If you set it to USER SETTING, make sure you adjust the BRIGHTNESS to BRIGHT.
