Illegal operation or general protection fault when go to a MS-DOS prompt

Information
Q: When exiting to MS-DOS prompt, it get an error message of "illegal operation" or "general protection fault." Why is that?
A: This is usually caused by a corrupted video driver. Simply reload the driver created from Master Disk Creator and it should clear up the problem.
Fax: 1. Go to START, PROGRAMS, TOSHIBA UTILITIES, and MASTER DISK CREATOR.
2. Click on OK and then click on "Toshiba Windows 95 Video Driver" and click on MAKE DISK.
3. Click on CREATE DISK and the program will start making the driver. Make sure that you have a blank floppy in A: drive.
4. Once that is done, go to CONTROL PANEL, DISPLAY, and SETTINGS.
5. Click on CHANGE DISPLAY TYPE and CHANGE for the Adaptor Type.
6. Click on HAVE DISK.
7. Make sure that "Copy manufacturer's files from" reads "A:\", then click on OK.
8. Click on OK.
9. When you get back to CHANGE DISPLAY TYPE screen, click on the second CHANGE for the Monitor type.
10. Click on SHOW ALL DEVICES, and select "(Standard Monitor Types)" for manufacturers and "Plug and Play Montior (VESA DDC)" for models.
11. Click on OK, then CLOSE.
12. When you get back to DISPLAY PROPERTIES SETTINGS screen, don't forget to readjust the "Desktop Area" to the proper size.
13. Click on OK or CLOSE. Reboot if prompted.
