
Reinstalling All Modem Software (Sierra Only)

- 1.) Make Toshiba Internal Modem Driver in Master Disk Creator.
2.) Delete the following files in Windows Explorer c:\windows\inf:
drvdata.bin drvidx.bin
mdmsier.inf oem3.inf
serwave.inf siervoic.inf
3.) In Device Manager remove the following items:
modem
modem voice
all communication ports ( com1, com2, communicaton port)
4.) Close all open windows.
5.) Go to Start/ Shut Down/ Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode? Click OK.
6.) Put the Toshiba Internal Modem diskette into the A drive.
7.) Type a:, press Enter.
8.) Type: copy *.inf c:\windows\inf, press Enter.
9.) If you are asked if you wish to overwrite c:\windows\inf\siervoic.inf type a and press enter.
10.) Type: copy *.* c:\windows\system, press Enter.
11.) When asked if you wish to overwrite c:\windows\system\vmodctl.dll type a and press enter.
12.) Press: Ctrl+Alt+Del
13.) Press F1 to enter Setup.
14.) Verify the following Settings (Change if necessary):
Serial Port Interface 1 Auto Configured or Com1 IRQ4
Serial Port Interface 2 Disabled
15.) Press F10, press Enter.
16.) The system will plug and play. Have the modem driver diskette available.
17.) Check settings in Device Manager.
18.) Continue with routine troubleshooting. Modem diagnostics, HyperTerminal, etc.
