Information
Purpose
-------
To provide you with a resource for circumstances where you
have previously installed CardWorks and wish to remove it in
a Windows 95 environment.

Before You Begin
----------------
* If your computer is setup with docking enabled and
your docking station has PCMCIA slots then dock it before
you begin to uninstall.

* Remove any PC Cards from your system.

* Be aware that if these instructions do not resolve
your issue then you may contact the computer manufacturer.

Uninstall Cardworks
-------------------
Follow these steps to uninstall Cardworks.

1. If Cardworks appears automatically in your Widows 95 taskbar
when you turn on your computer then follow these steps to
remove Cardworks from the Start Menu.

* Select Start:Settings:TaskBar.
* Select the Start Menu Programs Tab.
* Click Remove Button.
* Select the CardWorks entry and click the
Remove Button then confirm that you want to
remove this item.

2. If CardWorks runs upon startup then follow these steps:

* Double Click Startup entry.
* Select Wiz if available.
* Click Remove.
* Close the Remove Shortcuts/Folders dialog,
then press OK in the TaskBar Properties dialog.

3. Remove any short cut to the CardWizard application
on the Desktop by clicking its icon with the right mouse
button and selecting Delete.
4. Open Control Panel by selecting Start:Settings:Control Panel.
5. Select the System icon.
6. Open that icon and select the Device Manager tab.
7. Double click on PCMCIA socket and select the PCMCIA controller.
8. Use the Remove button to remove the PCMCIA controller.
9. Select OK to confirm removal in the device removal dialog box.

Edit CONFIG.SYS
---------------
Follow these steps to complete your uninstallation by editing
your CONFIG.SYS.

1. Click START:RUN, type SYSEDIT.
2. Click on the title bar that says "C:\config.sys".
3. In this file you may see a set of lines that start,
DEVICE=C:\CARDWORKS; add REM in front of each of them
so that they appear as follows:
REM DEVICE=C:\CARDWORKS
4. Close the system editor and save the changes you have made.
5. Now shutdown and restart your computer.


Install PCMCIA Controller
-------------------------
Follow these steps to install your PCMCIA Controller.

1. Install Windows 95 PCMCIA support before you reinstall your PC Card.
2. Consult the Windows 95 Help file for complete instructions
on adding the Windows 95 PCMCIA (PC Card) support.
3. After restarting your system, open Control Panel.
4. Double Click System, select the Device Manager tab.
5. Inspect the PCMCIA controller entry.
6. If it does not appear, add PCMCIA support using Add
Hardware in Control Panel. (Return to step two of this section.)
7. If the PCMCIA controller entry has an x on top of it,
select it and press Properties.
8. Inspect the Device Status.
9. If the status is disabled then check the Undocked configuration
box in the Device Usage Box and press OK.
10. The PCMCIA Wizard will enable PCMCIA. Your system my prompt
you to restart.
11. You may install your PC Card.
