The application Video brush allows the user to capture "Real Time" events or meeting notes from a whiteboard or flip-chart into a full-color high-resolution image with a few quick sweeps of a hand-held camera. Video Brush Whiteboard makes it easy to save whiteboard notes electronically, without the need to take notes by hand, or to scan manual notes or re-draw diagrams into a computer.

Unlike a single frame still image, the result can be of as high resolution and detail as needed, and the final image shape is not restricted by the video frame size.

Video Brush Whiteboard is intended for capturing images of meeting notes and diagrams drawn on a flat whiteboard or flip-chart. Images are saved in standard file formats and can be shared by printing, fax, or e-mail, or incorporated into word processing documents, Web pages, and other presentations.

Procedure to execute the Video Brush application

1. Open Video Brush - This will begin the process.

2. At the white board select "Live Video".

3. Select "capture frames" - this will begin the camera capturing portion.

4. Start the camera in the top left corner of the captured image and move the camera slowly across the scanned image.

5. Press the space bar to end capture session.

6. Select "build mosaic" and the captured frames will begin to synchronize and create the picture.

7. Once the mosaic is complete the captured image can be saved as .AVI files.

The Video Brush application requires the Intel YUV codecs which are typically installed on Windows 95 machines.

If Video Brush immediately displays a message about "YUV9 Decompressor Not Installed", then the Intel YUV (YVU) drivers for Video in Windows must be installed.

To install these drivers, run the Intel Indeo installer.

The installer executable is ivi_95nt.exe, this installs the Indeo Video RAW YVU9 codec, file iyvu9_32.dll in the Windows System directory.

To check for this driver, see Start / Settings / Control Panel, Multimedia control panel, Advanced tab.
Look under the Video Compression Codecs entry for "Indeo Video RAW YVU9" or "iyvu9_32", and then click on Properties to confirm.

This supports YVU9 Raw format.
The Video Brush software release includes the software application,
Help files, and a sample AVI video file.

The installation program installs the following application files, plus the Microsoft Visual C++ DLLs (MFC40.DLL & MSVCRT40.DLL):

Camera Issues
Documents are saved as .AVI files through the onboard camera or through a digital camera through the (Composite) S - Video input line.
Lens Distortion

Some cameras have significant lens distortion, Which causes straight lines to appear curved in the video frames.
If this occurs with a camera, use the Configure menu Video dialog box to set a Lens Correction value. A good value can be determined by observing live video of a scene with straight edges and adjusting the
