Information
The JetEye ESI-9580 has been successfully tested on Toshiba Libretto 50CT Notebook Computers.
Below is a description of the equipment used and resource settings:
JetEye ESI-9580 connected to Parallel Printer Port.

1. From Windows 95: Click on Start/Shut Down/Restart the computer in MS DOS Mode, and then Click on OK.
2. At the c:\Windows prompt: Type "TSETUP" and hit ENTER.
3. Arrow Key to "I/O PORTS"
4. Change the BIOS Settings to:

SERIAL

COM1 (3F8H/IRQ4)

INFRARED

COM3 (3E8H/IRQ5)

PARALLEL

LPT1 (378H/IRQ7/CH3)

SOUND SYSTEM

I/O ADDRESS = 0240H

INTERRUPT LEVEL = IRQ9

DMA = CHANNEL 1



NOTE: These settings may be altered. Please verify that there are no conflicts with I/O Addresses, IRQ's or DMA channels
with the COM ports, Sound System, and IrDA port.

5. Hit "END" then Hit "y" for YES.
NOTE: This will cause your computer to reboot.
6. Click on START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL and then Double Click on the SYSTEM ICON.
7. Click on the DEVICE MANAGER tab.
8. Now verify that all of the settings are correct in the "PORTS (COM & LPT)" and in the "SOUND, VIDEO & GAMES CONTROLLERS" under the "PROPERTIES/RESOURCE tab" on each selection.
NOTE: Once everything is verified close the "DEVICE MANAGER".
9. Click on START/RUN and TYPE "SYSEDIT" and Click "OK".
10. Close the AUTOEXEC.BAT/CONFIG.SYS/WIN.INI windows.
11. In the "SYSTEM.INI" window scroll down until you see the following lines:

a) Device=c:\tranxit\pcomm.386
b) Device=c:\tranxit\pumagir.386
c) Device=c:\tranxit\pumair.386

12. Now change the above lines to the following:
a) ;Device=c:\tranxit\pcomm.386
b) ;Device=c:\tranxit\pumagir.386
c) ;Device=c:\tranxit\pumair.386
13. Now SAVE the file by Clicking on the word FILE/SAVE in the task bar at the top and then CLOSE the SYSTEM CONFIGURATION EDITOR.
14. Click on START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL.
NOTE: Verify that there is an "MS INFRARED DEVICE ICON" is listed in the CONTROL PANEL.
NOTE: If there is an "MS INFRARED DEVICE ICON" listed in the "CONTROL PANEL" then SKIP to LINE 21.
15. In your "CONTROL PANEL" Double Click on "ADD NEW HARDWARE".
16. Click on NEXT/NO/NEXT.
17. Choose "INFRARED" and then Click on NEXT/NEXT/NEXT.
18. Choose GENERIC IR SERIAL PORT (COM3)" and then Click on NEXT/NEXT.
NOTE: Windows will now install the SOFTWARE and DRIVERS.
19. Click on FINISH.
20. Click on VIEW/REFRESH.
NOTE: Now there should be an INFRARED ICON in the CONTROL PANEL.
21. Now install the JET EYE DRIVERS and PROGRAM for WINDOWS 95.
22. Once completed, activate the JetEye in the Control Panel by double-clicking on the Infrared icon. This must be done each time you restart Windows.
23. IF YOU STILL NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE, PLEASE HAVE THE CUSTOMER CALL THE MANUFACTURE.
