- To assign another drive letter to your CD-ROM Drive:
1. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and change the line for MSCDEX to
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX /L:E /D:TOSCD001 /M:10 * note the drive letter /L:E
2. Do not restart yet. Go into Device Manager/CD ROM/ and double click the Toshiba CD-ROM driver to get
the properties.
3. Go to SETTINGS, and go down to the Reserved drive letters section
4. Change the Start and End drive letters to the desired letter.
* The /L: line needs to match what is in Device Manager, or the
system will lock up.
