Issue
Command line switches for ASPI2DOS.SYS
Procedure
The T6600 has four options to choose from to assign interrupts for the built-in SCSI adapter: 9, 10, 11 (default) and disabled. These can be selected in the TSETUP program in the 'OTHERS' section (SCSI Interrupt Level).

The ASPI (Advanced SCSI Programming Interface) manager may fail to load if the interrupt setting in TSETUP is set to anything other than '11'(default setting in TSETUP is '9'). To avoid this, be sure that the ASPI manager command line in the CONFIG.SYS file contains '/qx' (where 'x' is the interrupt number) switch. This switch allows you to specify the host adapter interrupt channel, which needs to match the setting in TSETUP.

DEVICE=C:\SCSI\ASPI2DOS.SYS /q10

Assigns interrupt 10

Below are brief descriptions of the command line options for ASPI2DOS. Detailed descriptions can be found in the Toshiba 'EZ-SCSI for MS-DOS and Windows User's Manual.

GROUP 1

/c and /c- (default is /c-)

/c prevents SCSI target devices from disconnecting during command line executions.

/c- allows target devices to disconnect.

/hx (default is /h7)

Specifies the host adapter SCSI ID (where x is the ID # 0-7).

/u and /u- (default is /u)

/u enables synchronous negotiation. /u disables synchronous negotiation.

/y and /y- (default is /y-)

/y prevents the host adapter from checking SCSI bus parity. /y- enables host adapter parity checking.

/z

Sets all Group 1 options, including the /qx Group 2 options to their default settings.

GROUP 2

/b and /b- (default is /b-)

/b tells ASPI2DOS to wait 250 milliseconds when it receives busy status from a SCSI target device, and then try to access the device again. /b- tells ASPI2DOS to notify the program that called it that it received a busy status from the target device.

/d

Displays useful information about the host adapter and attached devices.

/L

Enables support for SCSI logical units (LUNs) other than zero.

/p‹port address› (default is 340)

Sets the I/O port that the driver uses to communicate with the host adapter.

/pause

Pauses the system after loading ASPI2DOS at boot-time.

/qx (default is 11)

Specify the host interrupt request channel.
