Information
1.In TSETUP, set "serial = COM1" and "Internal Modem = COM2".

2.Go to Device Manager double-click on "Generic IR Serial Device" and place a check mark next to "Undocked". Make sure that the serial port and modem are not on COM3.

3.Device manager should list "Generic IR serial port(COM3)".

4.If not, i.e., "Generic IR serial port" without a COM port assigned to it, do the following:

Go to Start/Find/Files or Folders.
Search for MSPORTS.INF. (It should be in the Windows/INF Directory)
Double click in MSPORTS.INF.
Search for the following line: (It is about 20-25 lines down)

%*PNP0510.DeviceDesc% = NoDrv, *PNP0510

Change it to be:

%*PNP0510.DeviceDesc% = ComPort, *PNP0510

Save the file and go to Device Manager. Remove the IRDA compatible device and hit Refresh.
Now your IRDA device should be in COM3.

5. Open Tranxit and click on setup and then connection.

6. Remove all the configured connections.

7. Highlight infrared and click on setup connections and select
Port=Com3
Model=Toshiba Notebook PC or Generic
Speed=Variable

8. Repeat all the above steps for the other laptop.

9. Line up the infrared ports of both computers, and the "Traffic light" in Tranxit should turn from red to green.
