Issue
Configuring the 3270 IBM Personal Communications Software with the Noteworthy NW3270 PC Card Adapter
Procedure
  1. Exclude memory range CE00-D1FF from control of EMM386.EXE by adding X=CE00-D1FF to the end of the line in CONFIG.SYS that calls EMM386.EXE

  2. Set 3270 card to 'unconfigured' in Toshiba Card Manager
  3. Add device driver PNT3270 to the end of the CONFIG.SYS file:

    DEVICE=C:\[path]\PNT3270.EXE /S=[slot number - 1 or 2]

  4. Install and start the 3270 IBM Personal Communications Software
  5. Choose ' Start/Configure session' icon
  6. When the session screen appears, choose 'Communications'
  7. Choose 'Configure'.
  8. Choose correct adapter (COAX), attachment (usually 'Control Unit Terminal')
  9. Choose the 'Configure' button
  10. Choose 'Configure Link' button
  11. Verify settings for buffer address
  12. Select 'Yes' for 'PCMCIA'
  13. Choose correct PCMCIA slot number - 1 or 2 (for slot 0 or 1 respectively)
  14. Choose 'OK'
  15. Choose 'YES'
  16. Choose 'OK'
  17. Choose 'OK'
  18. At this point, you may need to change the keyboard profile. Choose 'Assist' and 'Keyboard setup'
  19. You can use either the 'IBM Default' or a 'User Defined'
  20. If a user-defined keyboard profile does not exist, create one using the 'Customize' button.
  21. Check with your MIS or System Administrator before customizing the keyboard profile.
