- Configuring the 3270 IBM Personal Communications Software with the Noteworthy NW3270 PC Card Adapter
- Procedure
- Exclude memory range CE00-D1FF from control of EMM386.EXE by adding X=CE00-D1FF to the end of the line in CONFIG.SYS that calls EMM386.EXE
- Set 3270 card to 'unconfigured' in Toshiba Card Manager
- Add device driver PNT3270 to the end of the CONFIG.SYS file:
DEVICE=C:\[path]\PNT3270.EXE /S=[slot number - 1 or 2]
- Install and start the 3270 IBM Personal Communications Software
- Choose ' Start/Configure session' icon
- When the session screen appears, choose 'Communications'
- Choose 'Configure'.
- Choose correct adapter (COAX), attachment (usually 'Control Unit Terminal')
- Choose the 'Configure' button
- Choose 'Configure Link' button
- Verify settings for buffer address
- Select 'Yes' for 'PCMCIA'
- Choose correct PCMCIA slot number - 1 or 2 (for slot 0 or 1 respectively)
- Choose 'OK'
- Choose 'YES'
- Choose 'OK'
- Choose 'OK'
- At this point, you may need to change the keyboard profile. Choose 'Assist' and 'Keyboard setup'
- You can use either the 'IBM Default' or a 'User Defined'
- If a user-defined keyboard profile does not exist, create one using the 'Customize' button.
- Check with your MIS or System Administrator before customizing the keyboard profile.
