Information

The enhanced IDE driver (TOSHCTRL.386) loads without a problem on the T4850CT with a 810MB hard drive.

After the setup you are instructed to enable 32-bit disk and file access in the Windows virtual memory section. This too seems to work correctly and you are asked to restart Windows. Any subsequent attempts to enter the virtual memory section results in the following error:

"32-bit File Access was unable to run. This may be because you started the network before starting Windows, because Windows could not find the IFSHLP.SYS driver, or your hard disk(s) may be incompatible with 32-bit File Access."

This can be corrected by adding a DEVICE=VCACHE.386 line to the [386Enh] section of the SYSTEM.INI file. VCACHE.386 is located in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory of the pre-installed T4850.

The README.TXT file that is included in the EIDE32.EXE file reflects this update.
