In compliance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the following FCC Part 15 regulations are provided regarding,
the installation and operation of your Infinia 33.6 Kbps DSVD/Fax/ Modem.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment
generates. uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions may cause
harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and

Installation
Instructions


Congratulations on your upgrade to the new Infinia 33.6Kbps DSVD/Fax/Modem Digital Simultaneous Voice Data (DSVD) technology
allows you to send voice and data simultaneously over a standard analog phone line. You can send a fax while talking to the receiving
party, work on files while discussing the content or perform other collaborative tasks across one phone line.


This modem has not been optimized for the
Toshiba InTouch Video Phone kit. For further
information about the Toshiba Video Phone,
please contact the In Touch Customer Support
Center at (800) 400-4172.


This guide describes how to install your modem. Follow the instructions very carefully, performing each stop as described before moving
on to the next step.

Upgrading the BIOS

You'll need to upgrade your system BIOS before you install your Infinia 33.6Kbps DSVD/Fax/Modem. Follow one of the options below
to upgrade the BIOS.


Using the Infinia System BIOS diskette

1. Click Start on the task bar, then click Shut Down, then select
"Shut down the computer?"

2. Click Yes.

3. Insert the Infinia System BIOS upgrade diskette into drive A:

4. Turn on your computer.

5. Press Enter at the screen prompt

6. From the main menu, select "Upgrade FLASH Memory Area from a File,"

7. Press Enter.

8. Select "Upgrade System BIOS."

9. Press Enter
The BIOS loads.

10. Press Tab once to select the file
"1OO6DHOS.BIO"


11. Press Enter.
A prompt for confirmation to reprogram the
BIOS is displayed on the screen.



12. Press Enter to Continue
The BIOS is reprogrammed.

13. Remove the Infinia System BIOS Upgrade diskette from drive A.

14. Press Enter to reboot your system.

Using the Toshiba Web Site

1. Access the Toshiba World Wide Web Site at: http//www.toshiba.com

2. Download the file named INFVlOO6.EXE.

3. Refer to the Readme.txt file for instructions on how to upgrade.

4. Follow the instructions to upgrade the BIOS.

Removing the Existing Modem

If you're not wearing an antistatic wrist strap,
discharge static electricity by touching the metal
surface of the computer before you touch any
component.


1. Click Start on the task bar, then click Shut Down, and select
"shut down the computer?"

2. Click Yes.

3. Unplug your computer from thc wall outlet or surge protector.

4. Disconnect the telephone line from the existing modem.

5. Unplug your telephone from the phone jack, if you have one
connected.

6. Remove the side panel from the computer.
Refer to your Infinia User's Guide for
instructions, if needed.



7. Remove the screw holding the fax/modem board in the expansion slot.

Don't lose the screw, you'll need it to hold the
DSVD/fax/modem board in place.


8. Carefully unplug the audio cable, then remove the fax/modem board
from its slot.


Installing the New Modem

1. Plug the audio cable into thc new DSVD/ fax modem board and back into the MotherBoard.
(Make sure that the connection to the MotherBoard has the RED wire on top and the two GREEN
wires are on the bottom with the tower standing upright).

2. Install the DSVD/fax/modem board in the same slot as the previous
modem.

Press the new modem firmly into the slot.

3. Place the new modem into the slot. Replace the expansion slot screw.

4. Replace the computer's side panel.

5. Connect the telephone line to the "line" jack of the new modem.

6. Connect the line from your phone to the "phone" jack, if you want
one connect.

7. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or surge protector.

8. Turn on your computer

Windows 95 detects your new modem as
"MultiTech System's MT2834ZPW"


9. Select "Driver from Disk provided by hardware manufacturer"
then click OK.

10. At the prompt, insert the modem diskette into drive A.

11. Click OK.

12. Click OK again.
Windows95 copies the files.

Installing the Drivers

Windows 95 detects new hardware called "Wave Device
for Voice Modem"


1. Select "Driver from Disk provided by hardware manufacturer".

2. Click OK.

3. Click OK again.
Windows 95 prompts to reboot.

4. Remove the modem diskette from drive A, then select Yes.

Syncro Setup

Syncro starts and displays an error message:

Syncro Connect could not initialize the telephony device.
Make sure that the correct telephony device is selected
in the local settings tab of the setup.

1. Click OK.

A warning message appears.


The audio and telephony capabilities could not be
loaded. Would you like to continue without audio
and telephony capabilities?


2. Click Yes.

3. Click Syncro Connect - Home on the Task bar,
then click the Setup button on Syncro Connect.

4. Click the Telephony Device pulldown in the Hardware
Devices section to change the current modem from
Sierra 28800 PnP SQ3463 to LT Win Modem.

5. Click OK to exit out of the Setup window.

Uninstalling the Sierra Modem Driver

1. Close Syncro.

2. Click Start on the task bar, then Settings,
then select Control Panel.

3. Double-click on the Modems icon.

4. Select "Sierra 28800 PnP 5Q3465."

5. Click the Remove button.

6. Click the Close button.

7. Close the Control Panel.


Your new Infinia 33.6 Kbps DSVD/Fax/Modem is ready to use.
