Information
PCMCIA - Megahertz Fax/Modems

1) MHz PCMCIA 14.4 Fax/Modem - Wrong Cable
Some MHz PCMCIA 14.4 fax/modems were shipped with the wrong RJ11 cable. This will cause a serial device to be
recognized as COM2, however when one attempts to run communication software, there is no response from the
modem. Please call MHz at 1-800-LAP-TOPS to receive the proper modem cable.

2) (XJACK 24/96, 14.4 fax/modems) and (MHz 24/96 and 14.4 fax/modems) If one is using EMM386.EXE in the
CONFIG.SYS with any of the above PCMCIA fax/modems please use the following parameters in the CONFIG.SYS:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D000-D0FF

Toshiba's Card Manager 1.0 is supported with the PCMCIA MHz fax/modems. This software will support hot-swap of PCMCIA cards, however RESUME fails. Please follow the installation instructions of Card Manager and choose the cards to "BEEP" and choose "COM2" as the serial port.

If you wish to install MHz enablers then please add this line to the Autoexec.bat file. Hot-swap and resume are not supported with this enabler.
