  6. In Device Manager, double click "Multi Function Adapters"
  7. If Windows95 is OSR2 (950B) there is no "Multi function adapter" category. There are 2 entries under the "Modem" category: one for "Multi Function Adapter" and one for "Modem".
  8. Click the manufacturer's "Multi Function" line. Click "Remove" and "OK" to remove the "Multi Function Adapter".
  9. In Device Manager, double click Ports(COM and LPT).
  10. If a red X appears next to "Generic Ir Serial Port," then it is disabled, leave as such. If no red X is present, verify that the "Generic IR Serial Port" is set to "COM3".

  12. Remove the check for "Use automatic settings." Click "basic config 0001" and change to "basic config 0002".
  13. Click "yes" for the message "Creating forced configuration." Verify that "Generic IR serial port" is now set to "COM3" by double clicking on "Ports COM and LPT" in Device Manager.
  14. In Device Manager, double click "PCMCIA socket." Double click "PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller".
  15. If Windows95 is OSR1 (950A) then remove the check under "Device usage" for the current configuration.
  16. If Windows 95 is OSR2 (950B) insert a check in "Disable from this hardware configuration". Click "OK". Restart Windows 95.
  17. Once Windows 95 restarts, open up Control Panel. Double click the PC Card icon.
  18. On the welcome screen click "Next." On the 2nd screen click "Next." Click "Finish" to enable 32bit support. Click "Yes" to shutdown Windows 95.
  19. Once the computer shuts off, power the computer back on. Once Windows95 restarts, a "new hardware" message will appear; insert the disk for the manufacturers combo card and click "OK".
  20. The path will be "A:\." Click "OK". The "multi function card" will be configured. Check Device Manager to make sure there are no conflicts.
  21. If the Combo card is not working or not configured properly, remove the Combo card from Device Manager. Follow steps 5-8 to remove the "multi-function card" from Device Manager.
  22. Open Control Panel and double click Add New Hardware. Click "next" on the welcome screen. Click "No" and "Next" on 2nd screen. Double click "Multi-function Adapters".

  24. The manufacturer's card will be highlighted. Click "Next". Click "finish" to complete the installation. Restart Windows 95.
  25. Once Windows 95 restarts, open Device Manager and verify that the card has loaded without a yellow conflict mark.
