Issue
The following procedure will reconfigure the Noteworthy 3270 Emulation PCMCIA Card.
Procedure
  1. Click Start/Programs/MS-DOS Prompt. At the C:\Windows prompt type in "CD\" and press the "Enter" key.
  2. Type in "Edit Config.sys" and press the "Enter" key. Locate the Device = line for "EMM386" and place a "REM" at the beginning of the line.
  3. Locate any Device = lines that refer to "CardWorks" and place a "REM" at the beginning of each line.
  4. Hold the "ALT" key and press "F"; release the ALT key and press "X". Press the "Enter" key to save the config.sys file. Type "exit" and press the "Enter" key to return to Windows 95.
  5. Click Start/Settings/Control Panel. Double click the System icon. Click Device Manager.
  6. In Device Manager, double click "Others." Single click Noteworthy 3270 Emulation Card. Click "Remove" and "OK" to remove the Noteworthy Emulation Card.
  7. In Device Manager, double click PCMCIA socket. Double click PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller.
  8. If Windows 95 is OSR1 (950A) then remove the check under "Device usage" for the current configuration.
  9. If Windows 95 is OSR2 (950B) then insert a check in "Disable from this hardware configuration" and click "OK". Click "yes' to restart Windows 95.
  10. Once Windows 95 restarts, open Control Panel and double click PC Card icon.
  11. On the welcome screen, make sure "no" is highlighted and click "next".
  12. On the 2nd screen, verify "no" is highlighted and click "next." Click "finish" to enable 32bit support. Click "yes" to shutdown the computer.
  13. Once the computer shuts off, turn the power on to reboot the computer back into Windows 95.
  14. During the boot process a "New hardware" message will display. Highlight "driver from disk provided by Hardware Manufacturer"
  15. Insert the "Noteworthy 3270 Emulation" diskette into the floppy drive. Click "ok" to configure the 3270 Emulation Card.
  16. If the diskette is not available, dial Toshiba's BBS (949-837-4408) to download the file "3270emh.exe."
  17. Open Control Panel and double click the System icon. Click Device Manager.
  18. If there is a yellow mark next to "Noteworthy 3270 Emulation Card," double click the "Noteworthy 3270 Emulation Card".
  19. Click the "Resources" folder and check the "Conflicting device list" on the bottom of resources folder to find what resource is conflicting.
  20. To modify the resources, remove the check mark for "Use automatic settings".
  21. If the conflict is with the "Interrupt Request," then double click "Interrupt request" in the "Resource settings" box to modify the IRQ resources.
  22. Follow the same procedure to modify the "Memory Range" and the "Input/Output range".
  23. Once the "Conflicting device list" shows "No conflicts" click "ok". Click "close" to exit Device Manager. Restart Windows 95.
